NAMASTE meets you at CSO Ada Ankara on February 25!
“Namaste” is a word of Sanskrit origin meaning “I bow to you with respect.” This ancient greeting represents recognizing the divine essence within oneself and seeing that same essence in another, uniting through this shared spirit. Born from this philosophy, the NAMASTE project reveals music’s power to transcend borders and connect cultures.
Kanun virtuoso and composer İlkay Olguncan creates a unique musical bridge by blending ancient Anatolian melodies, the mystical depths of the East, and contemporary Western jazz sounds. On stage, Vinayakram Selvaganesh, a master of the kanjira and a member of the Grammy Award–winning Shakti group, carries rhythmic traditions to new generations as part of one of India’s world-renowned musical families. His son, Swaminathan Selvaganesh, continues this musical legacy on stage with his mastery of traditional instruments.
The NAMASTE Concert offers a one-of-a-kind fusion experience, bringing together Anatolian tones and Indian rhythms, improvisation and jazz, tradition and modernity. Created through the vision of İlkay Olguncan, the project forms a universal bond through the unifying power of music, offering audiences benefits both spiritual and physical.
A heartfelt greeting to the world: NAMASTE.
